Heather Lister  is a working playwright and a keen advocate of the literary arts.

After many years teaching English in the secondary and adult sectors, Heather now works as a volunteer and Trustee at One25 Ltd, an organisation which advises and supports vulnerable women in Bristol. She and her husband also run a charity, The Park Bench, which provides library services to homeless people.

Heather is a working playwright based at The Tobacco Factory in Bristol. Her plays have been performed in theatres from Inverness to Exeter; in 2011 her play about the experiences of a blind student formed part of Theatre West’s Autumn season at the Alma Tavern Theatre in Clifton.

Heather’s work with marginalised people confirms her belief that, whatever our situation, we all need beauty and creativity in our lives.
