The Gane Trust exists to support people engaged in any aspect of the crafts, design and the arts, or in social care.
The Trust was created in 1954 in Bristol and has a particular remit for the South West, though we accept applications for grants from all over the country.
The Trust also supports a Travel Scholarship [htl] at Bath Spa University, Bath School of Art and Design and an annual Fashion Award award [htl] at the City of Bath College.
The Gane Lecture brings to the South West nationally recognized figures such as Thomas Heatherwick (2007), from the world of architecture and design. The Trust is continually looking to expand its activities, and to build up its resources [htl to support use page]. In 2005 we commissioned a table from the firm of Barnsley.
