Bristolian letterpress printer Nick Hand was given a grant of £500 for materials in support of his project touring his bicycle printing press to locations around Bristol this summer. The press is set up on his bike for passers by to print their own postcard connected to the location (at Lockleaze in this photo).

As well as demonstrating and promoting the ancient craft of letterpress printing in public spaces, Nick’s message is about the environment as the process is green in lots of ways – no fuel, no pollution, no electricity – just fresh air, and leg and arm power.
